Therapist & Practice Owner
Hey there!! I am Esha Shrestha, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I help individuals and couples get unstuck so that they can live and feel better about their life.
As people go through their lives, they are challenged with various barriers that undermine their self-worth, confidence and inner peace. So whether you're seeking therapy to resolve specific challenges, learn necessary skills to cope with new situation or process an overwhelming emotional situation, I am here to help you make sense of it all. My goal as a therapist is to work with you to uncover your true potential, create a path towards healing and lead a meaningful life. We will work together to better understand and resolve your conflicts, unearth old irrational thought process and negative behavior patterns that may be holding you back from a fulfilled life.
Individual behavior fascinated and intrigued me from my early age. This inquisitiveness created a passion and interest in understanding the nature and psychology of human beings culminating in completing my Under-graduate in Psychology from the California State University, Northridge and Masters of Arts from the University of South Florida in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy. My experience as a therapist includes working with individuals, couples, group and families in a residential treatment center, psychiatric hospital and private practice setting. Some of my areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, career counseling, self-worth, and couples therapy.
My therapeutic approach is integrative with particular interest in evidence -based therapy utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based disciplines, Rational Emotive Behavior therapy (REBT), Solution focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Strength Based Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. When working with couples and family, I utilize attachment focused theory, experiential therapy, and systemic therapy. I address the entire family or couple as the "client" so the target of change is the relationship, not just one individual.
If you're ready to move in a new direction in your life or just looking for an extra support during a challenging time, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goal.
